SEDG Cell

Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell

In compliance with the principles of equity and social justice enshrined in the Constitution of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has broadened the definition of Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs). In accordance with the UGC guidelines, the Hindupat Institute of Teacher Training has established the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell. The primary objective of this Cell is to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality higher education for students belonging to Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups.

The SEDG Cell functions as an independent body, without any hindrance or interference with the functioning and mandated activities of other statutory Cells of the Institution. The Cell is committed to protecting the constitutionally guaranteed rights, dignity, safety, and security of individuals belonging to SEDG. The Cell also works in coordination with existing statutory bodies such as the SC/ST Cell and the Equal Opportunity Cell to ensure equal access to opportunities in higher education and to empower SEDG students to participate actively and equally in the academic, intellectual, social, and cultural activities of the Institute.
